Susana Monteverde

Director of Development

Susana Monteverde joined the University of Houston in August of 2019 initially as program director and more recently as a development officer at the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. Her primary areas of focus are the School of Art and Blaffer Art Museum.
Prior to her current role, Susana was an art education consultant specializing in contemporary visual art. For over two decades, Susana has worked with volunteers, teachers, curators and collectors exploring ways of linking contemporary art and visual culture to the lives of students of all ages.
As an entrepreneur, Susana expanded the audience for visual art in Houston by creating meaningful experiences for adults and families through dynamic, interactive explorations of contemporary art. Her programs combined art engagement with other creative expressions and introduced burgeoning collectors to artists, galleries, museums and other collectors.
Focusing on the visual arts at the University of Houston, Susana will continue to connect emerging artists and scholars with the greater Houston community, strengthening the network of support for the high caliber arts programs in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts.
Susana earned a bachelor of arts in theatre at the University of Texas and worked towards a masters in museum education, also at the University of Texas.
