Director of Advancement
Hannah Barker joined the University of Houston in August 2015 as Manager of Donor Relations for the Honors College. Continuing her work with donors and alumni at the Honors College, she moved into a development officer role with University Advancement in 2017. Barker now serves as Director of Advancement for the Honors College. Prior to joining the University of Houston, she held various fundraising roles with Baylor College of Medicine and The Village Learning Center.
At the University of Houston, Barker leads philanthropic efforts in the Honors College, securing gifts at the $25,000 level and higher and visits alumni and donors across Texas and the nation.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics from Purdue University.
Melinda Colmenero joined the University of Houston in February of 2019 as a Development Coordinator for University Libraries. Her role focuses on supporting UH Libraries development efforts through stewardship and donor relations.
Prior to joining the University of Houston, Colmenero held an Administrative Assistant position for three years at a local nonprofit in Houston. While she wore many hats as an admin, her work primarily focused on donation processing, event planning, donor stewardship, social media, website and database maintenance. Colmenero also has four years of experience in advertising with a local advertising agency in Houston.
Colmenero holds a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Area Studies from Eastern Michigan University.
