WHO THEY ARE
UH Ambassadors embody the spirit of excellence, service and leadership that the University of Houston is known for and represent nearly every college on campus. Selected through a competitive process, they represent the University at presidential events, donor experiences and Can’t Stop Houston: The Centennial Campaign milestones. Their red blazers signal distinction, a visible standard of scholarship, leadership and Cougar spirit.
EVOLUTION OF A TRADITION
What began as the Advancement Ambassadors has grown into the UH Ambassadors, the premier student leaders and official student ambassadors of the University of Houston. Once serving a single division, they now stand for the entire institution, connecting UH with alumni, friends and community leaders at the highest level.

Our Service and Mission
University-Wide Engagement
The official student ambassadors of the University of Houston. Our members are the face of campus – icons that define student success and Cougar pride. Ambassadors remain engaged through with all aspects of UH, such as University level programming, Centennial Fundraising Events & Engagements, UH Traditions, Athletics, and Marketing Campaigns.
VIP Campus Tours
UH Ambassador campus tours allow special guests to experience the magic of the University of Houston through the eyes of a student while highlighting the rich history, current initiatives and innovative future of our beloved university.
Centennial Campaign Student Leaders
The Ambassadors foster a culture of student philanthropy and support of fundraising goals for the next century. Out members are not just present – they’re positioned. As student speakers for the UH Centennial Campaign, Ambassadors engage meaningfully with donors and partners through fundraising events, donor visits, stewardship and initiatives such as CoogsGiving to bring the Centennial Campaign to life in a way only students can.
Thoughtful Student Perspectives
Through Focus Groups, Public Speaking, and Student Testimonials, UH Ambassadors are elevating the student voice to inform, inspire, and influence. Our members don’t just show up – they speak up. Their personal student perspective inform high level conversations with the decision makers helping to shape strategy and direction.

Member Standards and Expectations
- Student leaders around campus who represent the values and ideals of UH – Philanthropy, Leadership, Connection, Service, and Pride
- Regular attendance and consistent communication
- Representing the voice of UH Students to donors, leaders, and stakeholders
- A spirit of philanthropy and service to UH
Membership Eligibility
Any full time University of Houston student in good standing may be considered eligible for membership to the UH Ambassadors if they meet the following criteria:
- Demonstrate a track record of academic excellence and stability
- Embody the Core Values of UH Ambassadors
- Meet application and interview deadlines
- Commit to membership expectations set forth for all UH Ambassadors
- Commit to a one-year (two semesters) service term
Application & Selection
- Application Opens Jan. 20, 2026
- Application Closes Feb. 20, 2026
- Selected candidates will be invited to in person interviews in early March. Final notification of selection will be sent out prior to Spring Break
